Calm Fjords and Northern Lights focuses all on enjoying the scenic landscapes, visiting the local villages and towns in the area and try for the Northern Lights every evening. Visit a local brewery, try out different local cuisine and soak in the swimming pools. Get to know the area and its spectacular mountains all around that offer such tranquility that the Northern Lights often mirror in the ocean between them.
Description
This tour is all based from two location, one close to the Capital of Reykjavik, the other in the Westfjords. 2 nights in Borgarfjordur and 3 nights in Onundarfjordur. The main objective is to visit areas outside of mass tourism which offer spectacular beauty, hidden gem and fairy-tale like history. Multiple sites visited during the day filled with various activities with focus on local experiences and Northern Ligths themed evenings.

Itinerary Example
Day 1
Pick up at the Airport and given a short introduction into Iceland and the Capital area. Overnight in Borgarnes
Day 2
Drive through the fantastic fjords of Isafjardardjup. Stop for a swim at a Natural Hotspring. Go seal Watching by the shoreline where they rest in their natural habitat. The fjords os Isafjardardjup offer multiple views for fjords with untouched nature, various wildlife, tranquility and Arctic Vegetation. Overnight in Onundarfjordur
Day 3
During the day we explore the villages around the northern parts of the Westfjords. Fishing is the largest industry and most of the work goes on down at the dock. That is also where a local brewery has started making their own beer and named it Dokkan, down at the docks. Taste their products and offer a free half day in Isafjordur for walking around and exploring. Optional excursions on that day as well before returning to Onundarfjordur for a chance to see the Northern Lights.
Day 4
The day starts with an excursion to Dynjandi Waterfalls. The waterfall is 100 m tall and up tp 60 m wide and falls over lava layers, a so-called staircase waterfall. It rests by the bottom of Arnarfjordur which offers amazing mountain scenery. Stop in Thingeyri on our way back and take a walk around town, which was the setting for many of the Icelandic Sagas that took place in the fjord of Dyrafjordur. Get back to the hotel for a Northern Lights option.
Day 5
Last day in the Westfjords. Head back to Reykjavik with a very scenic drive to enjoy the afternoon in the Capital.
Day 6
Transfer to Keflavik Airport. Thank you for visiting Iceland, welcome back any day.
